  • How can I wash my silk duvet?
It is best to have the duvet washed professionally. Keep in mind the silk has not been chemically treated in any way and therefore needs to be washed with care. For washing at home, we recommend a front load washer or a machine without an agitator. A gentle cycle and mild detergent that is recommended for delicate fabrics. Use only cold water and hang to dry or air fluff. (NO HEAT)

Amazing Silk Comforter

I bot my King size Mulberry silk duvet in 2011 at a Costco in Montreal . It was a limited time set up. I was in a Costco in Ottawa this past week end and saw a Silk comforter set up. I bot it and tried it out. Sadly it was not Mulberry silk as far as I could see. It was heavier and not as puffy, so I'm returning it to Costco and putting back my 13 year old Mulberry silk comforter which we have enjoyed thoroughly .

Thank you for your review. Sadly, we do not sell the Mulberry Silk in Costco anymore. Mulberry silk comes from the cocoons of silkworms that feed exclusively on mulberry tree leaves. In contrast, other types of silk are derived from the cocoons of worms that consume a variety of plants, such as oak or pine. Quality: Mulberry silk is renowned for its fine texture, softness, and durability.

Bought this as an impulse buy at the T.O. home show yesterday and I regret buying it. I did some quick research before buying and saw that long strand silk duvets tend to vary in price based on the silk weight in the blanket with blankets containing 1-2lbs of silk and the more expensive ones containing 5+lbs. They were selling this as a 5lb duvet which I later realized is the weight of the whole duvet, not the silk in side the duvet. I will say that I am impressed with how warm it is for the size, but I was comparing it to the price of the more expensive duvets with more silk weight. It wasn't warm enough last night at 22 Celsius so I'll try to return it or keep it as a summer blanket.

Dear Michael,

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your recent purchase of our Mulberry Silk duvet.

We understand your concerns and are surprised to learn that you're not fully satisfied with your new duvet. We appreciate your feedback and would like to address some of the points you've raised.

Firstly, we'd like to clarify that the total weight of the duvet is indeed 5 pounds. However, it's important to note that the quality of silk can vary significantly, ranging from short strand silk to long strand silk. At Mulberry Silk, we pride ourselves on using only the highest grade of silk available - long strand Bombyx Mori silk. This premium silk not only distinguishes our Mulberry Silk line but also contributes to its luxurious feel and durability.

With over 33 years of experience, we consistently hear from customers who have enjoyed their Mulberry Silk duvets for 10+ years, with the product still looking and feeling as good as new. Our duvets are meticulously designed to stand the test of time, offering years of comfort and satisfaction.

Regarding the regulation of body temperature, silk is renowned for its ability to help maintain a comfortable sleeping environment. However, it's important to note that individual experiences may vary, and it typically takes 3 to 5 days for the body to acclimatize to the duvet's temperature-regulating properties.

We understand that every customer's satisfaction is paramount, which is why Ocean Sales offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you are still unsatisfied with your duvet after giving it a fair trial period, we are more than happy to facilitate a refund for you.

We genuinely believe that you may find the benefits of our Mulberry Silk duvet to be worth the initial adjustment period. Silk offers various advantages, including relief from nighttime sweats, allergies, and protection against dust mites.

We hope this information addresses your concerns, Michael. If you have any further questions or require assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Great for summer

I’m thinking of buying a second one to add to the one I have. I use a wool blanket on top in winter. I love the lightness-easy to get into the cover, warmth to lightness ratio, breathability, and natural fabric. I really love it, but it’s not quite warm enough in the winter for me. I’ve had mine for about 7 years. I hang it in the sun for a few hours every spring to freshen it up and kill any chance of bacteria.
